This is the first food photo I’ve ever taken with a dSLR camera. My wonderful boyfriend bought me this camera for my birthday. He knew how much I wanted to capture memories of my fantastic meals with the essence of my late mother. This is my best birthday gift yet. (My birthday was July 12, but he couldn’t wait to open my gift! We opened the box with the camera on the 9th.) Anyway, this rice was the best spanish rice I’ve ever made! And it’s not boxed either. Everything is authentic to the tomatoes and chillies to the rice and bay leaf. This was an impromptu photo taken at one o’clock in the morning.

Recipe:
1 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon of onion power because who likes chopping onions (you can use real onion… like 1/4 of one chopped)
2 tablespoon of garlic power (you can use real garlic … like 3 cloves chopped)
Chilli peppers and diced tomato (like one tomato diced and a couple of peppers diced or use canned version if you’re lazy)
2 teaspoons of cumin

STIR FRY THE STUFF ABOVE IN THE OLIVE OIL. MAKE IT SIZZLE. THEN ADD:

2 cups of rice (long grain white rice or basmati)
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 bay leaf

COVER. WAIT 7 MINUTES. CHECK TO SEE HOW IT’S DOING. COVER AGAIN. WAIT UNTIL WATER IS DRIED UP AND STIR. CAREFUL NOT TO LET IT BURN. THE END.
