Leapin Lizard Gallery has something for everyone! Handmade goods, gifts & great art! Jill and Liz Godfroy began Leapin Lizard Gallery to give emerging artists an opportunity to show their work along with those who were already established. Starting with the idea that art should be accessible to everyone, they hoped to create an environment where people felt welcomed, entertained and inspired while experiencing a variety of artists and their visions. Combining fine art and American craft with a twist of whimsy and functionality, the gallery features contemporary artists and exhibits original work including paintings, collage & assemblage, outdoor sculpture, furniture, photography, ceramics, wire, glass, & a wide selection of fabulous jewelry!

The gallery is located in MainStrasse Village in Covington Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. A fabulous 1880’s church houses the gallery, a fabulous event space & several studio spaces for local artists. The former Methodist church is a perfect fit for the gallery with over 30 stained glass windows, 16 & 30 ft ceilings, and an enormous pipe organ that fills the space with sound.

By Nixon Waterman. When Johnny is playing outdoors with theboys, He is bright as a brand-new penny; In running and jumping and making a noise He is seldom outdone by any.But in learning his lessons in school, alas! He is nt considered so clever; For he frequently stands at the foot of hisclass, At the head of it hardly ever. He can catch an idea as well as the rest, For he s fully as bright as his brothers; But to master the language in which it s ex-pressed, He never will try like the others. One day when his teacher asked John to define A circle, he thought of the riddleA moment, and said: It s a round, straightline, With a great big hole in the middle. And what is an island ? his teacher once asked; And Johnny, who bravely aspiredTo answer the question, was heavily tasked To find the response she required. But he put his whole mind right to work with a will,And this is the answer it brought her: It s a place in the sea where the bottom, said he, Sticks up more or less through the water.
