Pataphysical Time Travel
The good doctors at Pataphysical Studios gathered at Dr. Rindbrain and Dr. Judy’s home on a rainy Saturday to contemplate the passage of time and make art about it.
We celebrated Dr. Skidz’ 70th birthday in style, with small gifts ranging from an illuminated tie to an antique telephone, hearty spirits, a nice chocolate cake and stock in the Mind Shaft Society.
We then discussed our first sketches and models for the Time Machine — and sketched out more ideas about our next pataphysical invention.
We enjoyed this opportunity to cheer our old friend and design our upcoming time travel experience together.
Fire in the hole!

Happy Birthday Lori
In recognition of what would have been Lori’s birthday I got a pb&j on wheat at Hazel’s and a soy chai latte at Farley’s and wrote her parents a long rambling card about what I remembered from Lori’s birthdays past.
In 2005 we went to Chez Papa for dinner and then to Cirque du Soleil. Michael and I bought her a pendant from the store on 18th that she loved (she used to buy herself Christmas presents there) – it was a typewriter key "L" on a metal chain. She loved it but I think she wore it all the time because she loved us.
Last year for her birthday we had champagne at Bacar before her friends met us there for dinner, and I gave her a funny gift; it was a wish necklace, a thin skein of pink threads with a tiny heart charm. The idea was to wear it and wish until the threads finally wore away and when the necklace fell off her wish would be granted.
We tied it around her neck that night at dinner. It seemed like the perfect gift for someone who seemed so lost and out of hope. I’ve wondered since if it had the chance to fall off or if she was wearing it when she died. I wonder what happened to the L pendant and whether her parents kept that scarf that made her grin.
